Hur man använder fotopapper att göra kreativa saker av Christine Cora

The world is becoming more and more digital by the minute, but when it

comes to photography many agree that there's just something special about

displaying physical photographs in your home or in an album. With

photo paper you can print exceptional quality photos from your home or

office without spending a ton of money to do it.

A good photo paper will be optimized to bring out the colors and details of

an image, but there are different grades available on the market depending

on which qualities of the photo you want to emphasize. For example, a

basic paper will mimic the aesthetic qualities of a traditional glossy photo;

it is affordable and a good all-purpose choice for casual projects. On the

other hand, a premium paper will be a bit more costly because it is designed

to produce a more professional-looking image; it also typically features a thick glossy finish to give the

photo a classy look. Professional photo papers will be the most expensive

because they usually offer convenient factors, such as a fast drying time

and impressive longevity, in addition to producing an outstanding quality

image. The choice in finishes ranges anywhere from matte to satin or

semi-gloss to high gloss.

By printing your own photos with photo paper, you have complete control

over the size of your pictures, the colors and resolution, and the type of

finish you want them to have post-printing. And by being a bit creative,

you can save money in the long run. For example, a standard size for album

pictures is 4"x6"; using an 8.5"x11" photo paper, you can save time and

money on bulk printing by arranging three 4"x6" photos to print on an

8.5"x11" sheet. All you need to do is cut them out afterwards. Respectively,

you could also print two 5"x7" photos, a page of nine wallet photos, etc.

And with a capable image editing program you can create fantastic photo

greeting cards, business reports, brochures (look for satin or matte

brochure paper), and other professional documents right from your home

or office. Using the right combination of photo paper and equipment will

ensure that your project prints out in the best quality possible.

Nowadays, you'll have as many choices in photo paper as you do your

photo printer. Inkjet paper dominates the market because inkjet printers are

generally more affordable and better suited to color printing than laser

printers. Laser photo paper is available, but you'll have less of a variety. I

would recommend using an inkjet printer if you plan on printing photos

frequently. Since inkjets apply wet ink to the surface of the paper rather

than heat-fusing it to the paper like laser printers, the printed picture's color

transitions will be more subtle and natural-looking once dried. Furthermore, many photo inkjet printers can hold more

than two ink wells, providing for a more vibrant color spectrum.

Some brands of photo paper are best used in the same brand of printer,

while other brands are designed for use with any inkjet printer. And grades

like a matte paper, for instance, may even be suitable for use in both inkjet

and laser printers. Take a close look at the paper you're interested in before

grabbing any brand or type off of the shelf. If you do your research, you're

bound to find a paper that fits your printing well.
